Snorkeling At Night

Why go snorkeling at night? It has much sense, because there is a number of sea creatures that just don't show in the daytime. Anyway, while snorkeling at day time requires no special training at all, the night time snorkeling requires at least some instruction. The site of snorkeling is important, and you should choose it beforhand. You need to be familiar with the site, and it is recommended that you have snorkeled there at least once. An underwater flashlight is needed, so get one from a scuba shop before going on your trip. The type of flash that uses 8 D-cells produces a nice bright light, while the type that uses 2 D- or C-cells is much easier to carry. Carrying a chemical light to make you more visible to boats and ships is highly recommended either. The chemical light is a single use light that functions during several hours since activation. Have it activated before you get in the water and attach it to your wrist. Safe and enjoyable snorkeling at night to everybody!
